Question: How do i incorporate shopping cart software into my site?

I have no formal training when it comes to this stuff (website design, html, etc), so I've had to learn everything on my own just be messing around and making mistakes. I'm at the point where I can use dreamweaver or microsoft expression web to make a pretty nice looking website. Now I want to add a shopping cart to it, and I'm at a total loss. Right now I have zencart (though I am not opposed to switching to another software if that's suggested), and it seems like there is no way to incorporate products into my existing website that I edit with dreamweaver. Instead, it seems like my only option is to create a new site using their templates. Is this the case? If so, can the templates be edited with a program like dreamweaver? If not, is there software available out there that will allow me to just add the software to my existing site? Like I said, I've had to learn everything the hard way, so anyone willing to take the time to help me out is VERY much appreciated. |
